Capturing Your Family Adventure Day

Let’s stop and think about your favorite kind of family day for a minute. Do you love heading to the coast for a beach day followed by clam chowder bowls? Or maybe a trip to the local bookstore with coffee and kids in hand? How about an evening at the ballpark eating hotdogs and cheering on your favorite team? Hiking the scenic landscapes the Bay Area has to offer? Attending an outdoor concert at the fair on a warm, summer night? Whatever your favorite family adventure looks like, having it captured professionally through family portraits San Francisco is now an option and honestly, a necessity in my eyes. And for celebrations and milestones, I also offer photo booth rental to bring even more joy and candid memories to your special day.

The Adventure Day offer was inspired by my son, who I intentionally spend quality time with every Thursday doing something fun. We then follow up with family day every Sunday. I realized that I was often finding myself in the midst of these authentic moments of motherhood and marriage, you know, the ones where messy and amazing collide, and thinking to myself, I wish my photographer was here. So, I created the opportunity for you instead: the opportunity to dress casually and comfortably, do something you love, and come away with more than cell phone selfies. This experience allows you to fully live in the moment with your loved ones. It’s a space where love, adventure, and quality are combined into what I like to call adventure art, where candids and documentary style unite. The best part about this opportunity? It allows mamas to be in the photos, too.

I promise, your kids will be so thankful for this.

FAQs About San Francisco Family Photography Sessions

  • Standard family galleries will be delivered a maximum of three weeks after the session. However, there is an expedited editing upgrade available for an additional fee in which the gallery will be delivered within 72 hours or less.

  • I’m going to be honest with you — I’m not a Photoshop pro by any means. Standard editing includes cropping, color correcting, exposure adjustments, and minor spot removal. Any major alterations will be an additional cost.

  • I hear this question so often from clients. To overcome this, I use a combination of prompts and posing depending on which I feel provides more comfort. Prompts are used to help you loosen up and create interaction between those of you in front of my camera whereas posing is more specific direction on where to place your hands and such. Regardless, I aim for your candid and genuine personalities to shine through my work. You really aren’t that awkward — trust me.

  • Yes, I have plenty of great location recommendations for your session. I will gladly send over the link to my gallery for your review, share further details about each location (ie. parking, walking distance, best lighting, etc.) and answer any questions you may have. I also love shooting at new spots, so I’m always up to discuss a place you already have in mind.

  • Yes, I am more than happy to share a blog with tips for family photo attire as well as a podcast episode where I had the opportunity to interview a professional stylist who offers so much helpful insight to consider before your session. I’m also always open to messages with your outfit ideas if you need an extra set of eyes.

  • Obviously, I cannot guarantee to make your child smile if they are not in the mood for photos, but I will absolutely try my best. Growing up in a big family with lots of children and now having two young boys of my own, I am confident in my capabilities to connect with your kids and keep them involved with prompts that make the session feel light and fun. However, if I don’t succeed, please stay open-minded to how true to life your gallery will turn out — nothing beats the simply expressive honesty of children.
